Job Description:
Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Location: Geneva, NY (On-site)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Serves as the primary contact and leader for all Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory issues, including customer complaints.
· Acts as Food Safety Manager and Third-Party Audit compliance officer; verifies and validates Quality, Food Safety and HACCP plans annually.
· Develops, implements and manages the Quality and Food Safety Plans.
· Develops, maintains and ensures compliance of HACCP programs
· Ensures the effectiveness of the Master Sanitation and Pest Control programs for the facility and any associated food grade storage areas.
· Ensures all processes are monitored and documented and kept up to date throughout the production process via the quality technicians and that all associated paperwork is in compliance.
· Analyzes QA data to measure, assess, and improve product quality performance.
· Communicates compliance results to Executive team, Production and Maintenance; ensures timely feedback and provides technical support to operate processes at target.
· Utilizes customer and consumer complaint data to identify root cause, then communicates and provides support to implement process/product improvements.
· Maintains open communication with other members of the QA team, Production and Maintenance to ensure each is aware of any potential food safety related concerns with product requirements and specifications.
· Mentors and develops team members.
· Directly supervises and ensures compliance of the daily operations of Sanitation and Quality Assurance technicians; responsible for all pre and postproduction cleaning and sanitation.
o Performs calibrations and maintains all required records.
· Maintains required food safety documentation, SOP’s, and ensures adherence to required Operator checks and performance.
· Creates the recipe blend for the production team based on daily production needs.
· May create test batches for future products, oversee key ingredient receiving and inventory condition or other projects or processes as deemed necessary.
· Lead team to ensure compliance with labels for all products.
· Ensure equipment and facility meets and exceeds compliance for all audits and drives corrective action processes as needed.
· May perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
· Five plus years in the food industry with a background in food quality and food safety supervision.
· Two plus years of leadership experience in HACCP, QA or food safety.
· Experience performing microbiological testing in production environments and implementing remedial actions as necessary.
· Ability to lead external audits and drive corrective actions throughout the operation.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Must be able to handle a wide variety of activities in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
· Four-year degree Food Science, Biology or related field preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The employee is regularly required to:
· Stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, and crouch. Sit and use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
· Frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
· Noise level is usually moderate.
· Ability to work in various weather conditions; coolers maintained at 38-40 degrees Fahrenheit.

The compensation range for this position is $75,000-90,000 annually, representing our good faith and reasonable estimate of the potential compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, and skill set.
