Job Title: Float (Busser/Barback/Food Runner/Host)
Position Overview:
The Float position is a versatile role designed to support the seamless operation of the restaurant by performing a variety of tasks across multiple areas. This team member plays a crucial part in delivering exceptional guest experiences, ensuring that the dining area, bar, and overall atmosphere remain clean, organized, and welcoming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Running:
- Deliver food orders promptly and accurately to guests using order tickets.
- Ensure proper presentation and correct plate placement for each guest.
- Communicate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure order accuracy.
- Takeout Orders:
- Assemble and verify takeout orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Package items securely and ensure all necessary utensils, condiments, and napkins are included.
- Table Maintenance:
- Pre-bus tables by clearing used plateware, glassware, and utensils as needed.
- Reset tables efficiently and neatly for the next party, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
- Monitor floors for spills or debris and maintain a clean dining area throughout service.
- Guest Seating:
- Greet and seat guests promptly with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Maintain accurate seat rotation to balance server workload and provide optimal guest flow.
- Input guest counts and seating arrangements into Resy or other seating management systems.
- Bar Support:
- Ensure the bar is fully stocked with ice, fruit garnishes, liquor, glassware, and other supplies.
- Monitor bar cleanliness and assist bartenders as needed.
- Polishing and Cleaning:
- Polish silverware, glassware, and plateware to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Assist in maintaining an overall clean and organized environment in all work areas.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
