1st Shift Production Supervisor
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision and leadership for assigned production team. Executes and monitors production processes. Drives efficiencies and productivity through the efforts and execution of team. Trains and develops team. Effectively integrates and utilizes technology and automation in manufacturing processes. Acts as a key member of the Plant Operations team. Effective problem solving and partners with support teams to remove barriers that negatively impact production efficiencies and effectiveness. Has knowledge of strategic planning and execution, continuous improvement, and demonstrates team building and development. Meets production schedules, volume targets, and manufacturing efficiencies targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Responsible for supervision, leadership, and coaching of assigned team and shift. Develops work schedules and assignments for team. Models’ behavior that is consistent with accepted policies, procedures, and Red Monkey Foods’ values. Evaluates team and individual performance against expectations and develops team to be successful. Ensures execution of production processes to maximize plant assets and drive efficiencies. Takes ownership, responsibility, and accountability of their team, being the example and building trust amongst team and support teams. Holds themselves and their team accountable for execution. Always building on successes, learning and developing bridges from the opportunities, and establishing a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Trains and Develops Team: Ensures that team members have necessary skills, knowledge and abilities to be successful in assigned roles. Provides relevant information updates and training regarding relevant standards and practices, as well as relevant regulatory compliance requirements. Collaborates with the training manager and support teams for cross training and developing of the teams.
- Safety: Actively engages with team to promote and support Red Monkey Foods’ safety program and initiatives. Ensures that safety elements are an integral part of the manufacturing process and are fully executed by all employees, all the time. Conducting Red Dot Tours and RAM discussions daily to ensure the safety of our team members continues to be our highest priority.
- Quality Assurance: Fully understands Red Monkey Foods’ GMP and Food Safety standards. Partners with the Quality Assurance team to ensure GMP and Food Safety standards are an integral part of manufacturing processes and procedures. Ensures full execution and compliance of GMP and Food Safety standards by team and across the plant.
- Manufacturing Efficiencies and Productivity: Responsible for meeting productivity metrics, both in quantity and quality. Achieves production targets consistently. Understands KPI’s used to measure manufacturing efficiencies. Sets targets for team efficiency KPI’s and measures actual performance against KPI’s. Examines production reports for accuracy, develops action plans for opportunities, ensures the teams have the proper tools, training, and support to be successful, track results. Takes action to address performance shortfalls and has the capability to develop and execute action plans to improve performance and development of the team.
- Teamwork and Collaboration. Acts as a key member of the Red Monkey Foods Plant Management Team. Actively engages in leadership meetings and provides timely feedback to team. May provide and/or receive input from across functional teams. Understands organizational mesh points and potential synergies. Integrates team efforts across business segments and channels. Understands available resources, both in the organization and outside of the organization to utilize those resources when appropriate.

Always looking for solutions through root cause analysis (RCA) and breakdown analysis (BDA) processes.

Communicates effectively and professionally to both internal and external parties using appropriate methods and technology. Executes outstanding customer communication and relationship building techniques.
- Demonstrated Business Acumen. Understands cause and effect relationships with regard to variables that impact the business viability of the organization.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years of progressive work experience in manufacturing that includes at least 2 years supervising teams in a manufacturing/production facility
- Familiar with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies

- Safety, quality, and performance driven to ensure the team is efficient and productive
- Team builder and development focused demonstrating solid leadership, supervision, and communication skills
- Good analytical ability, including the ability to analyze data and make sound recommendations
- Solid troubleshooting, root cause analysis, action planning skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or relevant software packages
- Continuous improvement familiarity and demonstrated ability to find creative solutions
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience in the food production and packaging industry
