What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respite Direct Care - Night Coach position at Red Mountain Behavioral Health Services?
Position Title: Night Coach (Weekend Retreat)
Classification: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Friday 10pm-Saturday 8am; Saturday 10pm-Sunday 8am.
Bi-weekly meeting Friday 8:30pm-9:30pm.
Job Summary: The Weekend Retreat is a transformative three-day therapeutic program designed for children and youth, hosted in one of Red Mountain Behavioral Health Service’s residential homes. By day, led by compassionate Life Skills Coaches. But by night, aided by the quiet calm and unwavering stamina of Night Coaches. From building relationships and offering support during the often-vulnerable nighttime transitions to helping tidy up kitchens and reset the homes for the day to follow – you are needed.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a safe environment in the facilities.
- Encourage a positive environment with healthy peer interactions.
- Redirect inappropriate behavior & resolve conflict, aid with other client struggles.
- Document client progress & interactions.
- Maintain a clean facility. (May include laundry, dishes, basic housekeeping, etc.)
- Participate in team meetings and trainings.
Physical requirements
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, driving, bending, reaching, and grasping.
- Several hours using a computer per week.
- Lift and carry up to approximately 50 pounds.
- Able to drive safely, including 12 or 15 passenger vans.
- Able to implement non-violent emergency safety response tactics if a client presents a danger to self or others.
- Able to visually observe client behavior.
- Able to hear, understand and interpret staff and client behavior.
- Able to communicate verbally and in writing.

Additional Requirements
- Support the mission, vision and values of RMBHS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Behavioral health experience preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable in Arizona
- Must pass background criminal history and drug test
- Current fingerprint clearance card
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Clear TB test
- Clear MVD Report
- Emergency safety response trained
- Maintain all required annual trainings.
