Location: Red Oak Camp – Kirtland, Ohio
Pay: $415 per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Full Day
About Red Oak Camp
Red Oak Camp is a nonprofit outdoor camp focused on building campers' confidence, leadership skills, and love for nature through adventure and exploration. Our campers participate in a variety of activities, including ropes courses, archery, canoeing, gardening, equestrian experiences, and outdoor skills.
Job Overview
We are looking for Group Leaders to guide a group of 10-12 campers through daily activities, ensuring they are engaged, safe, and having fun. Group Leaders play a key role in creating an exciting, supportive, and structured camp experience. They serve as mentors, role models, and the primary point of contact for their campers throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a group of 10-12 campers through daily scheduled activities
- Ensure camper safety, participation, and positive behavior
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive camp environment
- Support activity instructors in facilitating programs
- Communicate with other camp staff and leadership about camper needs or concerns
- Help with transitions between activities and maintain the daily schedule
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to ensure a smooth camp experience
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Experience working with children in a camp, school, or youth program setting preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Energetic, patient, and enthusiastic about working with kids
