Motor Vehicle Mechanic (Snow Machine Mechanic)

Position Summary

The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs snow machines, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, tractors, and power industrial equipment.

Essential Functions of the Position

• Diagnoses the source of trouble and determines the extent of repairs required.
• Replaces and repairs worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts.
• Experience in with snow machine repairs.
• Replaces, grinds, and adjusts valves.
• Overhauls transmissions.
• Repairs and replaces fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
• Performs annual, quarterly, and monthly inspections on all motorized equipment, power industrial equipment and general warehouse equipment
• Perform a variety of collateral duties such as hazardous waste generation, disposal, handling, etc.
• Operates forklifts up to and including 50,000 pounds lift capacity, and a variety of other equipment.
• Understands and uses safety items and personal protective equipment (PPE) that is mandatory and actively supports the EHS safety program.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct supervisory duties.

Physical Demands

• Required to walk, stand, sit, and move about the property for long periods of time.
• Required to perform physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, and stooping to handle materials.

Work Environment

• Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
• Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to multitask and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Must be reliable, responsible, and able to fulfill obligations.
• Possess a Valid Drivers’ License.
• Requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent.

Security Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check ·
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Base access and the Common Access Card (CAC)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $30.33 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
