Position Summary
The Quality Manager supervises the Quality Control staff responsible for the overall quality control program and quality assurances. The Quality Manager ensures that products or services the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) provides are fit for their purpose, consistent, and meet both external and internal requirements of the Performance Work Statement (PWS). This includes legal compliance and customer expectations. The QSM develops and maintains a performance matrix that supports the Project's Quality Management System (QMS). The QCM ensures surveillance inspections are performed and results measured against QMS standards. Assists branch managers and supervisors in developing processes that improve work performance.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Direct and coordinate quality assurance programs/plans and Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan
- Coordinate with activities to ensure they meet the required quality standards listed in the PWS
- Conduct research and analysis of problems to determine if problems are human error or systemic.
- Investigate and report injuries and incidents involving employees and damage to property.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis of Incident/Accidents of various programs
- Implement ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems standards.
- Implement and enforce OSHA, NFPA, EPA and DOD Safety standards and regulations.
- Develop flowcharts to support process development and improvement
- Develop and update audit checklist prior to conducting audits/inspections. Prepares briefings on quality audit findings
- Monitor functional area internal inspection programs through analysis of their monthly reports
- Prepare audit/inspection reports; evaluate responses and performs follow-up actions
- Conduct activity, technical, and special inspections
- Conduct statistical and trend line analysis to support process improvement
- Participate and facilitate, as required, in process improvement meetings
- Develop programs as requested by the Project Manager to enhance operations
- Provides management reports relating to the quality control program
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience creating, implementing, executing and improving Quality Management Systems/ Quality Control Plans.
- 5 years’ experience creating, implementing, executing and improving EHS policy and procedures.
- Must have strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Must have strong organizational and group presentation skills.
- Well-developed multi-tasking and time management skills.
- Proficient in using MS Windows and MS Word/Excel Applications.
- Possess a Valid Drivers’ License.
Preferred Qualifications/Certifications
- Experience with Microsoft Access.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- ISO 9001-2015 Quality Management Systems Standard – Lead Auditor Certification.
- OSHA 30 Course
- ISO 31000 Risk Management knowledge
Security Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain, at a minimum, a favorably adjudicated National Agency Check with inquiries (NACI).
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Quality Manager oversees all Quality Evaluators and oversees quality at the project level.
Physical Demands
- Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Working Environment
- Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
- Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
