Position Overview:
As the Controller, you will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance with cannabis regulations. You will play a key role in developing financial strategies, optimizing internal controls, and supporting business decisions with accurate financial data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure compliance with cannabis industry regulations, tax requirements (280E), and financial reporting standards.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financial planning.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies.
- Collaborate with leadership on financial strategy, profitability analysis, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
- Stay updated on cannabis industry financial regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Experience in Accounting role.
- Experience in the **cannabis industry** or highly regulated industries preferred.
- Strong understanding of **GAAP, 280E tax regulations, and financial compliance**.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, , etc.) and ERP systems.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving industry with regulatory complexities.
