Job Summary:
The HR Generalist supports the human resources operations of the facility, ensuring compliance with state and federal employment regulations and fostering a positive workplace culture. This role encompasses recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and the development and enforcement of HR policies. The HR Generalist acts as a resource for employees and management, providing guidance and support in all HR-related matters while ensuring compliance with Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) regulations and workplace standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer letters.
- Coordinate onboarding for new hires, ensuring all paperwork, background checks, and training are completed in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of employee certifications, including those required for OMMA compliance.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment.
- Assist management in handling disciplinary actions, terminations, and other sensitive personnel matters in compliance with applicable laws.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to improve retention and employee satisfaction.
Compliance and Recordkeeping:
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws, including OMMA regulations, state labor laws, and federal standards such as FMLA and ADA.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including payroll, benefits, and performance documentation.
- Prepare and submit reports required by OMMA, OSHA, and other governing agencies as needed.
Training and Development:
- Develop and implement employee training programs to enhance skills, ensure compliance, and promote professional development.
- Coordinate mandatory compliance training, including OMMA regulations, workplace safety, and anti-harassment policies.
- Maintain training schedules and track completion to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Benefits Administration:
- Coordinate employee benefits programs, including health insurance, and PTO.
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, claims, and questions to ensure a smooth experience.
- Work with vendors to resolve benefits issues and recommend program enhancements to management.
HR Policy Development:
- Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures to align with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure employees and managers are informed of and adhere to workplace policies, including those specific to the medical marijuana industry.
- Regularly review policies to ensure compliance with changes in laws and industry standards.
Payroll and Timekeeping:
- Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate processing of employee time and wages.
- Manage timekeeping systems, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with overtime and wage laws.
- Address employee payroll questions and concerns promptly and accurately.
Performance Management:
- Assist managers with performance evaluations, goal setting, and employee development plans.
- Provide guidance on best practices for managing and improving employee performance.
- Track and analyze performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed about trends and changes in HR practices, employment laws, and the cannabis industry to enhance HR operations.
- Recommend and implement improvements to HR systems, processes, and employee programs to support the facility’s growth and success.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align HR strategies with overall business objectives.
Work Environment:
- Full-time position with occasional evening or weekend work for training, events, or urgent HR matters.
- Primarily office-based with occasional visits to production, processing, or retail areas to provide HR support.
- Moderate physical activity, including sitting, standing, and walking, as well as handling documents or equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a regulated or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including compliance with OMMA regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Pay: $58,483.00 - $62,084.00 per year
