Position Summary:
The Dispatcher serves as the point of contact for the company’s customers and drivers. Dispatch is responsible for conveying accurate information regarding the service of customer freight, and driver-related issues such as HOS and route complications. Keeping our drivers safe and happy is of utmost importance so the ideal candidate will be understanding, friendly, communicative, and confident in making decisions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Consistent communication with drivers regarding routes, pickup windows, and hours of service
- Communication with customers to ensure that any affected parties are informed in a timely manner
- Updating shop customers on the status of their repairs and maintenance
- Ability to effectively navigate time-sensitive situations
- Data entry
- Load tracking
- Problem-solving
- Accurate and detailed reporting
Skills and Requirements:
- Customer service
- React to situations that come up to limit potential problems
- Searching current resources to find a solution
- Reach out to others as needed to help solve problems and come up with the correct solutions
- Hours of Service (HOS) and Transportation experience highly preferred
- Computer literate
- Detail-oriented
- Able to engage in informative, respectful, and friendly interaction with each driver
- Keep accurate records of problems and solutions occurring during your shift
