POSITION SUMMARY
- The Supervisor has the overall responsibility of providing support to the Reginal Pest Control
Manager (RM) to ensure branch profitability, expense, customer service, and productivity
goals are met. - The Supervisor trains, develops staff, and continuously measures service performance
against plans and objectives. - The supervisor provides support to service technicians directly and other employees
indirectly. - The Supervisor reports to the RM directly and the General Manager (GM) indirectly.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & SKILLS REQUIRED
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of five (5) years’ pest-related
experience. Prior experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, coaching, training, and
developing people required. Numerical aptitude and good judgment required. Excellent
verbal and written communication skills required. Must have prior experience
establishing and maintaining positive, ongoing, professional relationships with
customers. Must exhibit professional image, credibility, integrity, problem-solving,
organizational, prioritization, and follow-through skills. Vision and ability to execute goals
required. Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet company driving standards.
Computer proficiency (spreadsheet and word processing) required.
POSITIONS, FUNCTIONS, AND DUTIES
- RESPONSBILITIES
SERVICE PRODUCTION
o Monitor route schedules and optimization
o Monitor remaining orders report
o Monitor route size and number of stops and/or types
o Spot check 3-3-30 protocol utilization
o Ensure inspection report, pics, voice message, etc. sent following service
o Monitor material and supply usage
o Perform tech ride-along(s) - o Perform QA visits with existing customers
o Communicate, report, and notify RM/GM if route issues exist or may occur.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
o Monitor and assist with customer complaints and/or cancellation request
o Be abreast of cancellations/net gain by route
o Ensure organization’s core values are being utilized by all service technicians
o Call and assist with customer cancellations request daily - INVENTORY
o Perform vehicle inspections monthly - PLANNING
Assist RM – Work closely with RM on a routine basis and provide support to help ensure
service area profitability, customer service, and productivity goals are being achieved.
o Communication – Communicate through daily “last call” check in with the service
technicians and provide support when needed.
o Provide Input – Communicate daily with the RM and inform him/her of any
employee situations that you feel need further attention or action. Inform of any
customer issues or concerns that are not completely resolved to the satisfaction of
the customer.
o Recommendations – Communicate daily with the RM and make
recommendations that will ensure better employee morale, route efficiency,
customer service, and help promote a positive company image.
o Informed – stay abreast of industry trends, competitive challenges, and other
relevant management issues. Anticipate, plan for, craft solutions to, and respond
effectively to market demands and customer changes. - EMPLOYEE INSPECTION
- Team Building – Establish and maintain a level of creditability that encourages
technicians to openly discuss issues. Continually build relationships with the service
technicians and, at all times, promote excellent customer service, quality, integrity,
and professionalism. - Inspection – Monitor and maintain a top-quality image by ensuring that all service
technicians within your service area are wearing appropriate uniforms and following
dress code in accordance with company policy. - Hygiene Inspection – Monitor and maintain a top-quality image by ensuring that all
service technicians within your service area are appropriately groomed and/or
presentable. - Training – Assist with training of assigned technicians & new employees. Assist with
weekly training meetings. - Safety – Ensure that all technicians follow the company safety procedures.
VEHICLE INSPECTION
- Equipment – Monitor and maintain a top-quality image by ensuring that all vehicles
have the proper service and safety equipment readily available. Oversee material
issuance & usage. - Vehicle Security – Monitor and maintain a top-quality image by ensuring that all
property (tool boxes, products, etc.) within each vehicle is secure from theft and
abuse. - Maintenance – Monitor and maintain a top-quality image by ensuring that all vehicles
within your service area are being maintained in accordance with company policy. - Cleanliness – Monitor and maintain a top-quality image by ensuring that all vehicles
within your service area have correct decals and are cleaned on a regular basis. - Safety – Notify RM immediately of any maintenance issues or safety concerns.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Requires constant (67%-100%) travel throughout the community to customer locations. Requires
constant utilization of the telephone and the ability to work in front of computer monitor and on
keyboard for extended periods of time. Requires constant sitting for long periods of time.
Requires constant mental alertness. Requires frequent (34%-66%) walking, standing, bending
reaching, and stooping. Requires frequent ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Must possess
ability to climb heights and to endure high level of noise. Must be able to perform effectively
under pressure in situations requiring last-minute deadlines. Requires corrected vision and
hearing to normal range. Requires ability to communicate clearly. Requires ability to operate a
vehicle and travel.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Constant contact with customers and employees. Work is performed in air- conditioned/heated
facility and outdoors with exposure to all elements. Exposure to pest/termite
prevention/elimination products, chemicals, baits, and traps. Work involves continual use of
industry equipment, materials, and products. Work involves daily travel.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT
Must possess general knowledge of office machines and equipment including, but not limited to,
computers, printers, calculator, multi-line phone system, copier, and facsimile machine. Must
possess ability to operate pest prevention/ elimination equipment including, but not limited to,
traps, drills, shovels, carpenter's tools, power tools, applicators, backpacks, truck equipment,
safety equipment, and others.
