The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Bus Monitor/Floater. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday- Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
JOB SUMMARY:
Assist ECE Teachers with the supervision of classroom and playground activities and field trips. Help deliver age appropriate learning activities. Major emphasis is on developmentally appropriate practices, safety and positive classroom management.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must pass physical examination, including tuberculosis screening, on initial hire and annually thereafter.
- Must be fingerprinted, pass background check, drug tests
- Must have and maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
- Indian preference.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Program Substitute/ Floater
- Support the ECE Teaching Staff; does not have permanent classroom placement and schedule. Assignments vary from day to day depending on the needs of the program.
- Demonstrates ability to assist in the classroom using positive classroom management
- Understands developmentally appropriate best practice for preschool children and their families.
- Be aware of the cognitive, social, and physical needs of children.
- Kitchen Duties, Front Desk, and other duties as assigned. Team player attitude.
2. Bus Monitor
- Monitor children on the bus during transportation.
- Maintain transportation records as assigned
- Ensure the safe transportation of each child. Within ability, ensure safety of drop off and pick up sight. Informs Transportation Supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
- Must demonstrate genuine care, concern and affection for the children under his/her care.
- Ensure the safety of children at all times.
3. Cultivate and maintain a positive professional working relationship with parents, other family members and/or childcare givers. Encourage and facilitate regular two-way communication.
4. Attends workshops and training events as assigned.
5. Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.
6. Understands and implements safety rules, emergency procedures, and established policies, etc.
7. As mandated, identify and report suspected child abuse to proper authorities following established guidelines. Ensures safety of children at all times.
8. Follows the Code of Ethical Conduct as established by the NAEYC.
