Tool & Die Maker Apprentice
Reddog Industries, Inc. located in Erie, Pennsylvania has an immediate opening for a Tool & Die Maker Apprentice who is looking for a full time job and a rewarding career in a growth oriented position. This position has great opportunity for advancement. The Tool & Die Maker Apprentice will have the opportunity to further their hands-on training along with company paid education as part of the Pennsylvania State Certified Apprentice Program. Apprentices will be working with and learning from the area’s leading Journeyman Toolmakers. They will work and gain necessary skills required to perform mold repair and modifications as directed to meet customer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must be willing to train and work with experienced Toolmakers
Candidates must be comfortable working in a shop environment
Work from blueprints, sketches, concepts and verbal instructions
Operate conventional tool room machinery and equipment and possess an understanding of the basic operation (i.e. mill, grinder, etc.)
Assist with diagnose and correct die and tooling difficulties
Use tool room precision measuring equipment
Check, measure, and inspect all types of die components, and tooling for accuracy
Observe all company rules and procedures including housekeeping, quality of work and safety
Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to meet business conditions or changes
Adheres to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to read blue prints and use measuring equipment
Good communication skills
Full range of body motion, including the use of both hands for repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prefer candidates with previous tooling experience in a manufacturing environment
Technical school classes in machining or related field is preferred but not required
Able to pass pre-employment screenings, including background check, drug screen and physical
