SUMMARY OF JOB
The OBGYN Nurse Navigator participates in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating health services provided by the OBGYN department. He/she is a specialized nurse who assists women through their gynecological and obstetric healthcare journey, offering support, education and coordination of care. The OBGYN Nurse Navigator ensures patients navigate the complex healthcare system and receive personalized, efficient, and comprehensive care related to pregnancy, childbirth, and gynecological health throughout the life span. In collaboration with the OBGYN providers, he/she uses assessment, planning and intervention skills to evaluate the patient’s clinical condition, including the use of patient history, diagnostic test results and symptomology. The OBGYN Nurse Navigator serves as a liaison, educator and patient advocate, and functions within individual patient needs, physician orders, Holy Redeemer Health System policy and procedures, and the Pennsylvania Nurse Practice Act.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS
Registered licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
BSN upon hire
BLS certification required
Previous Women’s Health experience required, including strong clinical knowledge in obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive health
Experience in care coordination or patient navigation preferred.
Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills, Effective Public speaking and presentation skills required
Proficient in use of personal computer programs including word processing and data management programs preferred
Must meet satisfactory completion of orientation and competency validation within probationary period
LICENSE AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS:
Registered licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Membership in AWHONN organization is preferred
Specialty Certification preferred (or within 1 year of hire)
