General Job Description:
- Teaching math concepts to 6th-8th grade. Saxon Math Course 1, 2, and 3 to middle school students, fostering a faith-based learning environment, and supporting student growth both academically and spiritually, while also adhering to school policies and curriculum standards.
I. Core Responsibilities:
· Instruction:
· Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging math lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and Lutheran educational philosophy.
· Use various teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, group activities, and technology.
· Assess student learning through various methods, including homework, quizzes, tests, and projects.
· Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their work.
· Curriculum Development:
· Contribute to the implementation of the school's math curriculum, ensuring it aligns with school values and educational goals.
· Stay current with best practices in math education and incorporate new strategies into their teaching.
· Student Support:
· Identify and address individual student learning needs, providing differentiated instruction and support as necessary.
· Maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
· Serve as a mentor and advisor to students, supporting their academic and personal growth.
· Participate in school events, activities, and professional development opportunities.
· Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a strong and supportive learning environment.
· Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
II. Qualifications:
· Education:
· Bachelor's degree in mathematics, education or a related field.
· Valid teaching license or certification in the state of Florida.
· Experience:
· Previous teaching experience in middle school mathematics preferred.
· Experience in a Lutheran school setting is a plus.
· Personal Attributes and Skills:
· Strong knowledge of mathematics content and education.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
· Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Salary: Base $34,000
