Organization Position Title: People & Culture Specialist
Purpose of Position:
The People & Culture Specialist plays a key role in managing HR functions, employee relations, compliance, and payroll support at ReDefiners. This hands-on role ensures best practices in talent acquisition, performance management, benefits administration, and employee engagement, aligning HR policies with the organization’s mission and values.
Key ResponsibilitiesHR Operations & Compliance
- Process payroll and maintain compliance with federal/state labor laws.
- Update and enforce HR policies, including the Employee Handbook and PTO policy.
- Manage job descriptions and oversee workplace compliance best practices.
- Administer leave requests, unemployment claims, and workplace safety initiatives.
- Support leadership in workforce planning and HR strategies that enhance organizational capacity and sustainability
Recruitment, Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, screening, and interviews.
- Oversee and enhance the onboarding process for new hires and volunteers
- Conduct employee training, orientation, and benefits enrollment
- Lead performance management, including reviews and termination support
- Oversee workplace conflict resolution and compliance training
Employee Retention, Benefits & Culture Development
- Develop & implement employee recognition & retention strategies to enhance employee engagement
- Manage benefits administration and serve as the liaison for providers
- Foster a positive workplace culture aligned with organizational values
- Stay updated on HR trends and best practices
Qualifications:
✔ 2-5 years of HR & Operations experience
✔ Strong understanding of HR best practices, compliance requirements, and employment laws
✔ Experience managing payroll & benefits administration
✔ Strong administrative and organizational skills
✔ Proficiency in HR technology platforms (BambooHR, TraxPayroll) and Google Workspace
Preferred:
✔ Experience in a nonprofit or small business setting
✔ Bilingual in English & Spanish

$27,000- $30,000 per year
