Job Description

Peer Tutor(s) - Part-time position(s).

Part-time positions working up to 25 hours per week. The Academic Center for Enhancement is seeking tutors in the following areas:

  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Writing
  • Social Sciences
  • History/Government
  • Humanities/Arts
  • Nursing/Allied Health

Tutors will provide individual and small-group tutoring sessions, guiding students to become successful, independent learners. They will assist in improving students' mastery of concepts and applications presented by course instructors while integrating effective study and learning strategies to maximize academic progress. A Peer Tutor must demonstrate an ability to establish rapport and communicate with students and instructors.


Qualifications include: Successfully completed the course of study with a grade of "B" or better for which they will be tutoring. Enrollment in at least six (6) credit hours at Redlands Community College preferred. Students enrolled at four-year institutions will be considered.

Clery Statement

Redlands Community College is committed to providing a safe place to live, work, study and visit. Part of this effort includes sharing information regarding the safety and security of our campuses.

Redlands provides email notifications to all students, faculty and staff when a Clery Crime occurs in or near Redlands Community College campus or any of its sites. These notifications are primarily sent if the incident poses an ongoing safety threat as determined by the President of the College or his designee. The act requires colleges and universities to make “timely warnings,” known as “Safety Alerts” at Redlands, to campus community members about specific types of crime if an ongoing threat is believed to exist.
