Job Summary
The Assistant Executive Director will plan, manage, coordinate and participate in providing a comprehensive program of recreation, sports and leisure activities for the community. Duties include managing and evaluating programs, projects, and staff. Additionally, this position oversees the daily operations for the Community Recreation Center. The Assistant Executive Director assumes the duties of the Executive Director in their absence. This is a supervisory management position which requires a working knowledge of recreation program principles in conjunction with a developed managerial experience.
Essential Administration Duties and Responsibilities include and are not limited to:
1. Assisting the Executive Director and the Board of Directors with developing and implementing goals and objectives for recreation services.
2. Overseeing the work of a team of regular full-time recreational professionals.
3. Overseeing the operations of the Community Recreation Center
4. Participate in developing recreation program and facility budgets, administering and overseeing the results.
5. Assists with preparing applications for various grants and administer approved grants.
6. Participate and coordinate with various non-profit organizations in offering programs and services.

Qualification Requirements:
**A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, recreation management or equivalent experience; intermediate skills in mathematics, written and verbal communication, computer operations and knowledge of computer programs.
** 3-5 years of developed and successful managerial skills
**The ability to foster a team-oriented culture through positive interactions, active listening, meaningful collaborations, and constructive exchange of ideas designed to meet or exceed the District’s strategic goals.
Special Requirements/Licenses:
Possession of CPR/PR and Advanced First Aid certifications issued by the American Red Cross (obtain within 60 days of employment). Optional: Lifeguard Instructor Training Certification
Salary: $55,057 - $65,100/monthly to start depending on experience
This position is Full-time and Exempt.
