What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Technician position at Redshank Logistics, Inc.?
Redshank Logistics, Inc. has contracted with FedEx Ground for the delivery and pick up of packages. We have an opening for a Fleet Technician to perform safe and cost-effective maintenance and repair of all equipment operated by The Company. This is a full-time position working on and off-site, as needed.
Essential Functions includes but are not limited to:
- Schedules preventative maintenance to vehicle fleet.
- Performs scheduled and non-scheduled repairs.
- Conducts diagnostics and repairs of all systems associated with the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle fleet. This includes step vans, cargo vans, and box trucks.
- Completes emergency “on-road” diagnosis and repair of fleet as necessary.
- Shifts trucks into service quickly and safely as needed.
- Records all work completed and/or in progress.
- Provides drivers with technical assistance as needed.
- Drives trucks to and from emissions and safety inspection testing facilities for mandated testing.
- Reports defects to off-site truck repair shop when unable to repair on-site.
- Notifies management when a truck will be out of service.
- Maintains communication with management and the off-site truck repair shop on estimated repair/return to service dates.
- Keeps his/her workplace clean and safe.
- All specific responsibilities of a driver.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Valid driver’s license – A minimum class “D” license in Illinois or a class “E” in Missouri.
- Clean driving record. No suspended licenses. No accidents or driving violations.
- Drug free – you must pass a drug screen, including marijuana.
- Must have legal status to work in the USA.
- Must be punctual, energetic, reliable, and an honest team player.
- Must be able to pass a road test including DOT pre & post trip inspections.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to pass a background check. No felonies in the past 11 years.
- Must be flexible with scheduling. A 5 to 6 day work week is expected.
- General experience with truck repair.
You will be expected to work 8-to-10-hour days, depending upon business needs. Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with a 6-day work week expected from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
