Safety Officer

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for conducting safety inspections and training, managing and providing safety supplies, and reporting any safety hazards. This position will report directly to the Safety Manager and HR Manager.

Full-time, Non-Exempt

Essential Functions Duties:

• Conduct regular safety inspections at different worksites to ensure all employees follow the rules, regulations and safety requirements.
• Complete daily reports of each ranch that is visited during the day.
• Prepare and organize Foreman boxes with necessary tools. material and radios as needed.
• Purchase materials and provide Supervisors and Foremen with safety supplies.
• Deliver daily material and tools inventory sheets to inventory dept.
• Assist HR and Safety Manager with safety-related topics and trainings.
• Enforce preventive measures and report unsafe situations or conditions to Safety Manager or HR.
• Maintain ranch map book, first aid kits, SDS binders, IIPP and Foreman binders updated.
• Respond to and complete injury or accident investigation paperwork, report on work site injuries and accidents. investigate violations and determine cause to improve safety findings.
• Conduct safety inspections regularly (forklifts, tractors, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, bathrooms, water jugs, posters and H2A house, etc.)
• Maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures, accidents, safety related events and assist with CAL OSHA 300 and 300A log completion, when needed.
• Posts information, signs, posters, barriers, or other materials to warn of potential safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
• Replenish and keep daily safety supplies with you all the time during working hours and have them available for onsite visits.
• Help prepare materials and set up for monthly safety meetings.
• Organize night harvest box (Inventory and Set Up) during harvest season.
• Must be able to work long hours and night shifts during harvest or as needed during the season.
• Assist HR with new hire paperwork and onboarding as needed.
• Performs other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Vineyard practices, environment and safety in day-to-day operations
• Understanding of federal and state safety requirements, including OSHA
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to be insured by the company.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
