Direct Support Professional I and II
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered services and supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist adults with developmental disabilities in their daily lives, including dietary, hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs.
- Redirect behaviors with various activities, such as walking, reading, games, math, and computer projects.
- Outline and prepare daily routines for clients, as written in Individual Program Plans.
- Assist with bathroom needs, change undergarments and/or clothing if needed, and prepare daily meals.
- Pick-up/drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility (if necessary).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- CPR/First Aid certification
- CPI certification
- DSP 1 certification
- 1 year of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors (strongly preferred)
- A valid in-state driver's license, over 21 years old, current registration, and insurance, with a driving record of no more than 2 points within the last 3 years.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
