POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Pem-Mey Manager, the Food Service Supervisor is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the daily operation of the food service for Pem-Mey Fuel Mart. The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for setting the food service prices, purchasing the food service products, and providing the scheduling and supervision of food service staff. The Food Service Supervisor monitors the financial data and generates changes to benefit the overall operation of the Pem-Mey food service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Daily personnel management of food service staff by hiring, training, and firing as necessary, setting work schedules to cover hours of operation.
2. Maintains courteous, tactful relationships with customers.
3. Manages food requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
4. Establishes and maintains a cooperative and effective working relationship with staff.
5. Oversee reconciliation of food cash receipts and disbursements and submit daily food reconciliation to accounting.
6. Prepare reports on food inventory with outside vendors for replenishment in the food service area, and proper food inventory is kept for current business demands.
7. Maintains excellent people skills in relating to customers, staff and management and maintains a good attitude and is required to attend management seminars established by the YEDC.
8. Develop a managerial strategy to motivate staff with incentives/rewards based on performance.
9. Develop a retail management strategy to increase sales and reduce costs.
10. Take the initiative to keep the food service area, stockroom, and cupboards, etc. organized and clean.
11. Supervises food storage dates and rotations and inventory level control.
12. Cross trains Pem-Mey Fuel Mart store attendants to help fill in the food service staffing shortages.
13. Plans, directs, and supervises the preparation and cooking of meals, food reconstitution, and proper use of equipment in a safe sanitary environment.
14. Requisitions and purchases food supplies.
15. Verifies delivered food supplies for quantity and quality.
16. Oversees preventative equipment maintenance, maintaining a regular cleaning routine.
17. Requests for equipment repairs or replacement.
18. Performs other food service-related tasks and duties assigned by the Pem-Mey Manager.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.94 - $24.45 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
