What We’re Seeking:
We’re seeking a Payroll and Benefits Reconciliation Specialist to join our rapidly growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience reconciling payroll, benefits and taxes across multiple entities. This individual must be able to function effectively in a dynamic environment with little supervision and be passionate about joining a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare all journal entries relating to payroll, including expenses, tax and benefit liabilities and other payroll related transactions.
- Review payroll reports and reconcile discrepancies between payroll records and financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy in payroll transactions, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Investigate and resolve payroll errors, including overpayments and underpayments.
- Prepare documentation for benefit payments and billing to multiple entities.
- Reconcile benefits-related transactions, including retirement plans, health insurance, and other deductions across multiple entities.
- Address discrepancies and collaborate with Human Resources (HR) to ensure accurate reporting.
- Prepare intercompany billings for payroll and benefit expenses paid by the corporate entity on behalf of properties.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll and benefits documentation.
- Ensure payroll and benefits records are properly documented and stored.
- Work with HR and Accounting teams to ensure smooth payroll and benefits recording and reconciliations.
What You’ll Bring:
- 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits.
- Proven ability to create payroll journal entries from payroll reports provided by payroll vendor.
- Skilled in reconciling benefits across multiple entities.
- Experience processing payroll tax payments in multiple states.
- Excellent judgment, attention to detail, relationship management, and problem-solving abilities; demonstrated ability to earn credibility and influence opinion leaders.
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills with an ability to multi-task, prioritize work, manage deadlines, and track deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- High-energy team player that is a self-starter that can work proactively with limited supervision.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills and effective presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
