  • Ensure proper documentation and upkeep of technical data, laboratory procedures, and materials
  • Maintain lab equipment as well as lab order and cleanliness with safety in mind.
  • Keep tracking SEM and Ion mill consumable inventory
  • Identify problems during SEM operation and provide an initial evaluation of issues.
  • Maintain organized records of imaging conditions, results, and sample tracking.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in materials science, mechanical engineering, or comparable degree and experience.
  • Prefer experience in a materials characterization lab using scanning electron microscopy and associated system (EDS and EBSD).
  • Experience with scanning electron microscope alignment and routine maintenance
  • Detail oriented, excels at performing repetitive tasks where both high degrees of accuracy and precision are required.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure smooth workflow and coordination.
  • Comfortable working with chemicals and vacuum equipment in a laboratory environment.
  • Be both capable and willing to perform all the various manual tasks involved with lab work, such as safely moving heavy objects, handling incoming materials, etc.
