The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for various aspects of preparing, recording and reporting of financial transactions with an emphasis on the accounts payable function. In this position, he or she will perform routine clerical tasks and work with financial records as well as serve as the backup for other job functions in the Accounting and Finance Department. This position will regularly interact and work with vendors and outside customers as well as internal customers. This position supports both Reece Albert, Inc. and CSA Materials, Inc. headquartered in San Angelo with locations from Alpine to San Antonio.
Reece Albert is a family owned, full integrated heavy construction company providing construction services for site work, roadway and highway construction, underground utility, concrete and bridge structure, and hot mix paving projects throughout West Texas. CSA Materials, Inc. provides aggregate and asphalt construction materials for Texas’ infrastructure and building needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Receive, process, verify and reconcile invoices
- Reconcile and review purchase orders
- Resolve billing issues or errors
- Monthly close of accounts payable records including month-end accrual information
- Review sales and use tax to ensure accurate liability
- Track expenses and process expense reports
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments
- Scan and electronically file invoices and documentation
- Prepare checks for printing and mailing
- Process outgoing ACH transactions for invoices paid electronically
- Review records and computer reports to verify accuracy of transactions processed and balance accounts
- Assist in compiling data for accounting and financial reports
- Provide information regarding status of payments or receipts
- Prepare bank deposits
- Pick up, sort, and drop off mail
- Scanning and electronic filing of documents
- Provides consistent interpretation and implementation of company policies and procedures
- Champion the company values and culture
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Perform related duties as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Strong written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in office computers and computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, email, PDF, and accounting software
- 10-key proficiency

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- Minimum one year of experience in accounts payable
- Working knowledge of computer skills including windows, word processing, spreadsheets, email, and financial software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform the following:
- Lift up to 25 pounds
- Stand or sit for extended periods of time
- View a computer terminal for extended periods of time
- Stoop, kneel, reach, stand, grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
- Repetitive finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, or neck movement
- Works in an office setting
- Quiet to moderate noise level
