Reed Longyear Malnati Corwin & Burnett, PLLC is seeking an attorney to join our Estate Planning, Probate and Guardianship/Conservatorship practice. We are a well-established and long-standing general civil practice firm in downtown Seattle with strong ties to the local community. Applicants should have practical knowledge of civil procedure and strong research and writing skills. Applicants must be hard-working, self-starting lawyers interested in and capable of understanding and handling a variety of matters with confidence.
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting probate filings including petitions, oaths, notices, orders, and declarations
- Drafting estate planning documents including wills, trusts and powers of attorney
- Creating trust and estate inventories and accounting and working with clients to obtain necessary documentation
- Communicating and meeting with clients
- Ability to work with clients in emotionally stressful situations
- Ability to collaborate with attorneys and staff
- Ability to use drafting software to effectively draft documents
Qualifications:
- Membership and good standing with the Washington State Bar Association
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
- At least one (1) year of experience in Estate Planning, Probate, Guardianship/Conservatorship and/or Elder Law
- Experience with civil procedure and court rules for King County and the State of Washington
- Familiarity with Practice Master/Tabs or other similar practice management/calendaring software
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office
