Job Summary:
We seek a highly motivated individual with private club or resort experience. Cutalong is an 18-hole private resort golf facility located in Mineral, Virginia.
In this role, you will be responsible for training and supervising our Outside Services personnel. Our Outside Services staff will be the first and last point of contact for our members and guests, responsible for providing superior service and maintaining the finest amenities while promoting an atmosphere of excellence. You are responsible for maintaining a clean, organized work environment while presenting a professional and positive image for your areas of focus: Bag Drop, Club Staging Area, Cart Barn, and Practice Facilities.Work is performed outdoors, and workers are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Varied outside weather conditions, such as heat/humidity or cool/cold weather, are expected. The noise level is usually moderate to loud.
The ideal candidate will be professional, a team player, passionate about golf, and provide exceptional experiences. Prior experience in golf operations is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists the Head Golf Professional and/or Director of Golf to ensure that the Outside Services operations and activities align with the departmental goals.
- Greet all members and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Ensure members and guests have an enjoyable day at the club when they visit.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality and ensure the same of staff
- Administer policies, procedures, and standards for outside services operations.
- Comply with the Club's standards, policies, and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations and ensure the same for staff.
- Ensure staff maintain high standards of professional appearance and grooming, which include wearing proper attire and a name tag when working.
- Train service employees in their assigned duties.
- Coach and counsel outside service staff when necessary and with guidance from the Director of Golf or Head Golf Professional. Prepare schedules and monitor performance regularly.
- Ensure the club's high standards of service and quality are met/exceeded.
- Manage the completion of Outside Services' daily checklist, including bag handling services, golf cart management, and driving range operations.
- Manage and maintain inventories for all outside services equipment, including golf cart fleet and maintenance records.
- Report any damaged, broken, or misused equipment to the Golf Pro/Assistant Pro as soon as possible; record the damage and by whom.
- Respond to inquiries and/or concerns from members, guests, vendors, or staff and initiate problem-solving procedures when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Attend staff meetings as deemed necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- 2-year college degree preferred; High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Requires basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge and understanding of typical golf course procedures and etiquette
- Knowledgeable about all upcoming club events.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to lead.
- Results-oriented and capable of working independently and in a minimal direction.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Able to perform all positions within outside service operations.
- Excellent team player who can work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform the required role in emergencies.
