Job Summary:
Maintain and promote all refrigeration and unit parts and service sales to existing and primarily new customers. The Sales Representative is responsible for the achievement of budgeted sales and contribution profit through business development of current and new customers. This position may require overnight travel with in the assigned region.
Essential Job Functions:
- Identifies and calls on prospective customers, maintains and develops key accounts and current customers.
- Performs face-to-face sales calls with customers and prospects on a regular and frequent basis.
- Identifies customer parts needs and locates part numbers in the appropriate parts books or via electronic records.
- Develops rate proposals and presents to prospects.
- Identifies trends and competition in markets and advocates action to maximize opportunities and minimize risk.
- Provides a positive customer service perception and reinforces a “Value Added” proposition to our customers. Communicate with leadership issues related to customer satisfaction
- Ensures strong customer retention levels through effective execution of sales and marketing plans, delivering service excellence, and ensuring prompt and effective service recovery.
- Maintains and updates customer files in our systems including notes on all customer interaction.
- Ensures all necessary contract paperwork is complete and submitted timely.
- Enhances sales department and organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Assists with events and marketing as needed for the new business lines, and future business lines as requested or needed, Able to work extended hours and our shows to promote product
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical and regulation publications.
- Create and manage sales promotions seasonally to promote product and dealer awareness. Visibility on-site and rolling promotion of the MCT / CTSC name.
- Develops and implements action plans to increase sales, margins and profitability.
- Communicates with Sales Manager to establish necessary and acceptable margins to earn business.
- Communicates with Sales Manager any capital equipment referrals for equipment sales.
- Submits call reports/progress weekly and expense reports via councour and sales force to Sales Manager in a timely manner.
- Attends and actively participate in Sales meetings to review performance, opportunities, and challenges.
- Seeks out, at minimum, one new customer per week and provide a detailed call report including company name, contact, description of business, and plan of action.
- Processes customer orders through the computer system and complete orders by pulling and delivering or shipping goods.
- Checks in stock orders and daily deliveries, process I/B as needed.
- Maintains sales goals and growth for the territory
- Forwards new equipment leads to sales management
- Quickly and efficiently responds to internal and external customer needs
- Assists service shop technicians in identifying parts necessary for repairs and pulling the parts for them and getting them posted to the R/O.
- Keep parts truck clean and fueled/clean Service truck as needed.
- Attention to detail in every facet of inventory.
- Cycle counts inventory including counting and documenting counts, reporting variances to management and researching variances.
- Attendance and punctuality are essential job functions. Employees must arrive to work prior to the scheduled shift start time, while not taking unscheduled and unauthorized absences as determined by company and departmental guidelines.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Job Requirements:
- Technical Understanding, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Thoroughness, Verbal Communications, Documentation Skills, Job Knowledge, and Quality Performance.
- APU, EPU, and TRU and part sales knowledge a plus.
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience of three years with sales
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, walk, stand, work with their hands, reach grab and bend.
- Employee is required to lift 50 pounds and must occasionally move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
