JOB SUMMARY:
The Executive Director will serve as the chief administrator, providing leadership and implementing policies and programs to carry out the work of the organization. The Executive Director’s overarching responsibility is to execute on key strategic initiatives, provide oversight on financial results, achieve sustainability goals, ensure operational milestones and targets are exceeded, and drive process improvement for the organization. In partnership with the RAWNY Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for operations, including budgeting and financial planning, operating policies and procedures, risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, to ensure the achievement of its mission and objectives. The Executive Director is expected to provide oversight and leadership to the organization, foster relationships with community partners and identify new opportunities and avenues to support strategic growth. The Executive Director develops and maintains key relationships with funders, community leaders, and donors; serves on all appropriate Board committees and is a liaison between staff and Board.
RESPONSIBILITY BY AREA:
Organizational Leadership
· Leads RAWNY in a manner that supports and guides the organizational mission.
· Acts as RAWNY’s primary motivational leader; inspiring the management, staff, Board, stakeholders, and community based partners to work together to make a significant impact on the lives of those served.
· Working with the Board Chair, develops and implements an exceptional on-boarding process for new Board members; facilitates smooth transition to maintain operational consistency.
· Maintains alignment between services offered/service partners and RAWNY’s mission.
· Provide hands on motivational leadership, coaching, and supervision to CFO, Program Director and other direct reports.
· Fosters a positive environment that encourages current and new service partners to collaborate and provide services to those that have experienced incarceration.
Risk Management
· Identify potential risks and opportunities within the organization and its environment to protect business interests.
· Monitor company operations and ensure employees and business practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements.
Financial/Budget Creation
· In collaboration with the CFO, Program Director and Operations Manager, oversees annual budget development; drafts and presents annual budget to Board for approval; consistently reviews the operating budget as well as monthly budget to actuals. Maintains and analyzes data and provides growth plans to overcome organizational challenges.
· Identifies new funding opportunities to support the financial sustainability of RAWNY.
· Exhibits strong fiduciary experience managing RAWNY resources openly and transparently.
Board Governance & Reporting
· Collaborates with the Board to ensure all operational functions and duties adhere to policies established by the Board and the approved bylaws.
· Regularly provides updates to the Board on organizational performance, pertinent staffing issues, financial status (funding/budget), legal and compliance matters, and project progress.
· Collaborates with the Board to develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan.
· Drives organizational growth in collaboration with Board members, committees, staff, service partners for needed projects, strategic plans, and/or organizational changes.
Fundraising
· Drives development and fundraising efforts, to meet organizational goals and objectives in collaboration with the Board and Committees.
· Develop a new fundraising plan that initiates, cultivates, and extends relationships with potential supporters of RAWNY, in collaboration with the Board.
· Advises Board on prospective fundraising/development opportunities.
Community Outreach
· Leads public relations efforts; consciously enhances the organization’s image.
· Represents RAWNY publicly by attending events, committee meetings, community meetings, professional functions, and other events.
· Fosters development of regional forums to provide for exchange of information.
· Networks effectively with other professionals, organizations, institutions, and agencies to build awareness and partnerships and further the organization’s mission.
· Oversees the implementation of the communications plan that incorporates general publicity to the community that strengthens, builds, and promotes RAWNY, its mission and its work.
· Oversees stakeholders and public relations activities, including websites, tours, and public speaking events.
· Develops and implements a formal recruitment/marketing plan that identifies and secures potential candidates for the organization’s vacant positions.
All other duties as assigned by the RAWNY Board of Directors
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in human services related field of study or business and four years of supervisory and leadership experience required; master’s degree strongly preferred; previous experience working with and a passion for those who have experienced incarceration; experience in management of state and/or federal grants.
Salary : $85,000 - $90,000
