What are the responsibilities and job description for the UI/UX Designer position at Referentia Systems Incorporated?
We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to lead and elevate our digital user experience and visual storytelling. In this role, you will design, refine, and optimize the look and feel of our software and web platforms while also supporting marketing initiatives—including website layouts, branded visuals, and video content. You must be highly motivated to be well aligned from corporate, business unit and product strategy throughout the process to ensure intended objectives are met. Ideal candidates have a strong foundation in user-centered design, a keen eye for aesthetics, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Conceptualize and prototype new and existing digital products.
- Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and pattern libraries to ensure brand consistency.
Conduct user research, usability testing, and iterative design improvements based on feedback and analytics. -
- Design responsive website layouts that prioritize seamless user flow and accessibility.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of design elements as well as security lead(s) to ensure cybersecurity.
Identify and address design-related performance or usability issues, suggesting enhancements. -
- Create visually compelling marketing materials such as infographics.
- Produce or support the production of video content for internal and external marketing campaigns.
Align all visual assets with overarching brand guidelines and campaign objectives. -
- Work closely with stakeholders, project leads and developers to translate business requirements into intuitive user experiences.
- Communicate design concepts and rationale effectively to both technical and non-technical teams.
Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies to continually elevate our brand and user experience. -
- Document design decisions and maintain design workflows.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to team brainstorming sessions.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support organizational goals. -
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Media, or a related field required. Equivalent experience may be considered to substitute education requirement.
- Must have at least 5 years of professional UI/UX design experience with a strong digital portfolio showcasing web/mobile projects.
- Demonstrated success in designing user-centric, responsive websites and complex user interfaces.
- Expert knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Sketch, or Figma.
- Familiarity with prototyping and user testing platforms (e.g., InVision, Marvel, UserTesting).
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic web development concepts to effectively collaborate with developers.
- Prior experience creating marketing visuals and branded collateral required.
- Basic video editing or motion graphics skills (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects) preferred.
- Must be able to exhibit alignment with corporate and project objectives.
- Strong communication skills overall including for presenting design ideas and obtaining buy-in from diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience in a cybersecurity or technology-driven environment.
- Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance.
- Must have an understanding of the basics of the cybersecurity domain and market.
- Cybersecurity certification highly desired.
