Position Description
The ESG Manager is pivotal in supporting the development and implementation of our ESG strategies across North America. The ESG Manager will work closely with various departments to create actionable plans, track progress, and support change management efforts. Additionally, this role will engage with executive leadership to align ESG initiatives with broader business strategies and collaborate with customers, suppliers, and other third parties to promote sustainability practices.
Essential Jobs Functions:
- Develop and Implement ESG Strategies: Collaborate with departments to create comprehensive ESG roadmaps that align with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure strategic alignment and effective execution of ESG initiatives.
- Track Progress: Monitor and ensure consistent and continuous data reporting for pertinent ESG metrics, ensuring targets are met and adjustments are made as necessary.
- Support Communication: Facilitate communication across departments to ensure all stakeholders are informed and engaged in ESG efforts.
- Change Management: Drive change management initiatives to integrate ESG practices into the company culture.
- Data Analysis: Analyze ESG data to inform strategy adjustments and prepare disclosures for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal departments, customers, community partners, and other external stakeholders to communicate the company's sustainability efforts. Serve as a link between Refresco NA and Group on ESG.
- Training and Development: Collaborate to offer ESG training programs to enhance organizational awareness and capabilities.
- Risk and Opportunity Assessment: Identify and assess ESG risks and opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to provide fact-based recommendations across various levels of management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written.
- This position will need to utilize multiple data sources to navigate through large data sets and summarize findings into a management level communication.
- Strong analytical skills, proficiency working in Excel and PowerPoint is required.
- Strong team player who can work across multiple functions.
- Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of an organization.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, planning and organizational skill.
Education and Experience:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in ESG, sustainability, or a similar role within the CPG industry, with demonstrated success in driving change.
- Expertise: Solid understanding of ESG principles, key frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD), and data reporting.
- Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with senior leadership.
- Personal Attributes: Passionate about sustainability, proactive, and able to drive initiatives independently.

- Physical – Continuously sitting for prolonged periods using a computer.
- Visual/Sensory – This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time.
- Work environment – Work and environment are fast-paced, requiring the ability to remain focused under pressure. Attention must be concentrated in the face of numerous changing stimuli.
- Mental Stress – There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, project management, accuracy, or similar demands. Continuous requirement of decisive action.
