Position Description
The Production Manager is responsible for driving and managing the production process and associates at the facility while maintaining efficient production in desired quality and quantity. Develops and leads the Plant Production team in exceeding key performance indicators for safety, environment, quality, customer service, and cost. Builds and develops a strong team of decision-makers and our organization's next leaders.
Essential Functions
- Leads improvement efforts to maximize plant efficiency, performance and cost without compromising quality or safety
- Leads efforts and mobilizes resources to reduce unscheduled downtime
- Engages and enables all employees to realize full potential
- Supports and encourages a culture of employee ownership
- Leads focus teams to continuously improve the operation
- Adheres to all applicable procedures and policies
- Leads by example with impeccable Good Manufacturing Practices(GMPs) and Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) adherence
- Develops strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimization
- Ensure compliance to all OHSA and environmental regulatory and corporate standards
- Drives training and cross training to ensure production schedules are met within budget
- Executes coaching and performance management as required to ensure goals are realized
- Participates in the development of the annual department budget & strategic long term planning
- Maintains effective communication of expectations and goals throughout the plant environment
- Develop and communicate business results weekly, monthly, and quarterly
- Ensures the adherence and administration of the Employee Handbook
