What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper/Personal Assistant position at Regal Boy?

I am a former New Yorker, who recently completed a move to Myrtle Beach (specifically zip code 29572) with my 10 lb., 12-year-old dog (who is very sweet).
I need to maintain my business in NY. While I do not need to work there, I do need to travel there from time to time. That said, I am maintaining my books and records and managing my business from my home office in Myrtle Beach.
Presently I am away roughly one week every five weeks (though that may change).
I need either two people, or one person if he/she can handle all the work timely, to be my administrative assistant(s), bookkeeper(s) , etc. to do whatever it is I need to meet my business (and some personal) requirements. I am getting on in years and I am not in the best of health, so the person or persons I am looking for should be energetic and engaged, in my stead.
This will only be a limited number of hours most, but not all, weeks, on an as needed basis. The hours you work can be fairly flexible; basically any time I am at home during the day or early evening.
Because you will be working at my home, during the time that I am present, you must be dependable; show up at the agreed time, because I must plan to be home for you. Last minute cancellations ruin my day. This job is not remote.
In the beginning, you will need to be available for more extensive hours in order for you to be trained in it, get yourself up to speed and to have you button up the many loose ends.
You must be timely and rigorous in handling everything currently, and keeping me timely informed. You cannot fall behind, and catch up when you have the time. Y For example, you might be responsible for handling payroll, which of course, must be paid in a timely manner.
It is not the right job for you if:
1. You only plan to do the job, if and when you can fit it into your schedule, or when you need a few bucks
2. If you work various jobs, and cannot give my job priority
3. If you have a demanding full-time 9 to 5 job or other demanding situation.
QUALIFICATIONS & DUTIES
1. One of the most important jobs will be keeping current with QuickBooks accounts, both in terms of:
a. insuring there are adequate funds in the account to pay bills, and pay them, and
b. data entry and reconciliation.
Accordingly, you should have a good working knowledge of accounting concepts and QuickBooks.
2. You should also have a working knowledge of Excel so you can prepare various schedules and Word so you can draft letters, etc.
3. Other jobs you would typically be expected to handle would be dealing with the mail, paying bills, handling payroll, ordering supplies, parts, etc., calling repairman, making phone calls, filing, handling emails, driving to the post office etc., dealing with problems and more generally, whatever simplifies my life. And handling a problem does not include finding a reason to drop it back in my lap to do.
4. And what may be the most important job is to remind me of things that must be done by verbally reminding me, and providing me with often-updated written To Do, Appointment and Travel lists.
First and foremost, I am looking for someone with common sense--there is no substitute for common sense--that sees the business through the eyes of the prudent efficient business owner. In essence, you will be taking over my responsibilities as the business owner, etc., so you must be very responsible, run a lean, efficient business, with same care and efficiency as if the business were your own, etc.
I am looking for a trustworthy, considerate, savvy, thrifty, motivated yet easygoing person who can go with the flow, and works efficiently. Because living a long distance from my business is new to me, and I am going to need to work out the kinks, and things change over time. I need a quick learner and an efficient worker who does not need a lot of supervision , and is mindful of the corporate pocketbook. Because of the time it takes to train someone, etc., I am only looking for someone who can commit to working long term. Accordingly, when you apply, it is very important for me to know what your current general weekly availability and flexibility are, and if there is anything that might change either.
You must have your own working car and your own cell phone, with texting and voice mail,, that you regularly monitor, and you should live relatively close to me (say within 10 minutes). Multiple references are a must. Spanish speaking is a plus, because my employees in NY are native Spanish speaking,
The job pays an hourly rate, and I have listed the rate herein. You will be paid by corporate check, approximately every two weeks, generally within 2 weeks after you present a detailed invoice with a schedule of work performed with the dates and times attached to each work you performed.
Prior to commencement of any work, you will need to fill out a W-9, provide a clear copy of your driver’s license, and fill out any other paperwork and provided documentation necessary or reasonable.

1. Your level of accounting/bookkeeping knowledge
2. Your familiarity with QuickBooks, both data entry and reconciliation
3. Your knowledge of Excel
4. You knowledge of Word
5. You have your own working car that you have use of,

7. You have your own working cellphone, with voice mail and texting, that you can regularly be reached at
8. Your availability (now & in the future)
9. Your flexibility (now & in the future).

11. You know the pay rate offered and you that rate is acceptable
