What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Trainer ,HCC- San Bernardino position at REGAL MEDICAL GROUP, INC?

The HCC Risk Adjustment Physician Trainer will maintain and assure the department, providers and others are held accountable for the scoring and maintenance of medical records, charts and files.


This role will be supporting onsite at our San Bernardino location .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1. Audit Provider patient charts and analyze for proper documentation. Also, review all other chart documents to identify potential conditions that Provider may not have listed.
a. Subjective – History of chief complaint or current status of symptoms
b. Objective – Results of all examinations
c. Assessment – Current and chronic conditions written as stated on superbill
d. Plan – Explanation of treatment.
2. Review audit findings with Provider and provide any substantiating medical background to the findings.
3. Ensure that Provider performs proper follow-up to provide care for the patient as indicated in the audit findings.
4. Train and mentor HCC staff.
5. Accountable for increasing Company's RAF score in order to place company within the upper quartile of the industry.
6. Experience in chronic condition diagnostic coding, clinical lab results and pharmacy interactions.
7. Will serve as the HCC Physician Champion in interfacing with all levels of management.
8. Will aid in design and implementation of HCC incentive programs.

9. Establish provider relationships and ensure problem resolution.

10. All other duties as directed by management.


Education and/or Experience:

1. Experience in Managed Care

2. Coding experience a plus

3. Master's Degree

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience in Managed Care
  • Clinical experience preferred
  • Coding experience preferred
  • Master's degree preferred but not required
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office programs(i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Power Point)
  • Must be a able to travel within service area and have a valid state driver's license and insurance
