Regal Professional Services has partnered with a client in Plano to hire a Trade Compliance Specialist at their HQ.
Summary
The Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting all import and export functions under the Company Corporate Compliance Program and acts to assist the Corporate Trade Compliance Officer.
Responsibilities
- Manage U.S. customs brokers. Perform post-entry audits against customs reports and customs broker electronic data, vendor, and import documentation.
- Respond to customs inquiries including collecting information from various sources, constructing, and submitting responses to regulatory authorities.
- Prepares and files all required reports as specified by government import/export Trade compliance agencies.
- Works with carriers to ensure procedures are in place to optimize international shipments.
- Maintains import/export processes and trade compliance projects and programs as the Trade Compliance Specialist.
- Support operation process controls through regular interface with suppliers, supply chain, sales operations, logistics/shipping, and customers to keep the company compliant with current trade regulations.
- Stay current on U.S. import/export regulatory changes and proposed legislation.
- Understand the business and operational challenges resulting from the import/export regulations as well as non-trade compliance matters.
- Resolves all trade compliance issues for customers, including proper classification of goods and required documentation for customs clearance.
- Learn about the company’s business as appropriate. Shows up to work on time and attends work as scheduled.
- All other duties as requested by the supervisor or department head.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Trade Compliance
- Electronics Import/Export experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. Import and Export Administration Regulations, and Customs and Border Protection Regulations, import/export, documentation, and recordkeeping
- Experience with process improvement plans, measurements, Trade compliance operations tracking, data and statistics.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills with
- Multi-tasking and prioritizing with excellent time management and organization skills.
- Ability to quickly adjust priorities to meet business needs and work in fast a pace environment.
- Capable of working independently and on own initiative.
- Excellent customer interface skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to follow all applicable Business Management System (BMS) processes.
