Position Summary
Set up and operate machinery to coat products or materials with oil, paint, lacquer, varnish, shellac or rust proofing agents under direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces, prime, sand, seal, clean, and paint manufactured products utilizing all types of painting material such as water base paint, epoxy paint, etc.
- Mix paint and solution, regulate temperatures, and move painted items to drying racks.
- Finish coated surfaces by polishing with sandpaper, pumice, rouge, was, or other finishing materials.
- Apply proper enamel or lacquer finish per customer specifications.
- Operate, clean and maintain all painting equipment.
- Perform activities planned by others.
- Communicate internally with contacts outside the work group to exchange work related information.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with Rexnord policies, 6S procedures, and in line with Regal Rexnord core values.
Experience and Skill Required
- 0- 2 years of experience in painting; high school diploma or equivalent a plus.
- Effectively communicate and work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of and ability to use basic painting skills to adapt to procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet the more advanced requirements of the position.
- Accurately read and comprehend blue prints, work instructions, and routings.
- Ability to write to record basic information.
- Knowledge of and ability to compute basic arithmetic.
- Knowledge of and ability to use tools or special devices to work, guide or move objects or materials. Start, stop, and control the actions of machines or equipment for which a course must be steered or guided in order to fabricate, process, or move things. (Pallet jack, overhead crane, etc.)
- Ability to carry out tasks that require a sequence of steps usually performed in a particular order.
- Knowledge of and ability to solve problems in situations where most problems have occurred before. Solutions are familiar and based on past practices.
