This position is responsible for comprehensive lawn and landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, edging, and applying lawn care products. Duties also involve pruning shrubs and trees, managing lawn and garden waste, and maintaining irrigation systems. Providing lawn care recommendations, performing basic equipment maintenance, and adhering to safety protocols are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect lawns and landscapes to assess their current condition and maintenance needs.
• Mow lawns using power mowers or hand mowers as per the client’s requirements.
• Trim and edge around walkways, flower beds, and walls.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other lawn care products as necessary.
• Prune shrubs and trees to enhance their appearance and improve their growth.
• Sweep and rake leaves, collect and dispose of lawn and garden waste.
• Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems.
• Provide recommendations to clients on general lawn care and maintenance.
• Perform basic maintenance on lawn care equipment and machinery.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while carrying out tasks.
• Other duties as required or assigned.

Position Qualifications:

• Valid NYS Driver’s license, required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Two years of lawn care experience, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of basic gardening and lawn care practices.
• Ability to operate and maintain gardening equipment and tools.
• Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements/Abilities

Dexterity with hands, ability to tolerate vibrations while using machinery and ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Bending, walking, twisting, pulling, carrying up to 50lbs. Hearing, listening and seeing ability. Ability to tolerate variety of outdoor climates, including sunny days and hot/humid temperatures, as well as rainy days and cooler temperatures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
