Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substitute School Nurse to provide temporary full-time and part-time medical support and care in local public and private schools. As a Substitute School Nurse with Regency Home Health, you’ll play a critical role in promoting the health and well-being of students while ensuring that they are in a safe, supportive, and healthy environment during school hours.
Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate medical care to students, staff, and visitors as necessary, including first aid, medication administration, and illness assessment.
- Respond to medical emergencies and manage acute health conditions as they arise.
- Maintain accurate student health records and ensure compliance with district health protocols.
- Communicate with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student health concerns and treatments.
- Promote health education and wellness practices within the school community.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Support school staff in managing students with chronic conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, or allergies.
- Maintain a clean and organized health office, and adhere to infection control procedures.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in NH.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Previous experience in a school health setting or pediatric care is preferred.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
