JOB FUNCTIONS:

JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Compares identifies information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills or invoices, orders or other records.
- Determines method of shipments.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
- Inserts items into containers.
- Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
- Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Routes items to departments.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet qualifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
As Necessary, performs other related duties of which the above representative.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
High school diploma or equivalent.
MINIMUM DIRECTLY RELATED JOB EXPERIENCE:
Two years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Management must contact the Human Resource department of adding to or changing a significant number of duties.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
- Organizational skills
- Knowledge of commercial package services, i.e., UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.
- Experience interacting with commercial shipping carriers
- Knowledge of basic mathematics
- Ability to interact with a team of coworkers
- Customer contact skills.
- Computer literate.
- Able to read and comprehend documentation written in the English language.
- Written communication skills.
PHYSICAL MOTION:
- Walks at least 40% of each day.
