POSITION DESCRIPTION
A Staff Accountant will be responsible for multiple auditing and accounting projects and client engagements simultaneously. They will be expected to learn routine testing procedures and complete in a timely and professional manner in accordance with assigned deadlines. As a Staff Accountant, you will work closely with engagement managers/supervisors/senior accountants in coordination of engagement workflow, time management, and auditing services.
POSITION-RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES
The Staff Accountant can expect to focus in the following areas:
- Perform testing for financial statement audits, reviews, and other assurance services.
- Follow instructions and document in workpapers specific procedures performed and related conclusions to verify account balances.
- Prepare financial statements and footnote disclosures as required under GAAP or other accounting framework, as applicable.
- Demonstrates attention to detail in work performed and documented.
- Interact with clients to identify and resolve account discrepancies.
- Exhibit strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and relationships.
- Use research tools to investigate auditing issues, as needed.
- Work in multiple software applications to provide quality information in a timely manner.
- Seeks to improve knowledge from varied tasks, projects, research, etc.
- Responsible for maintaining up-to-date time and expense records to accurately bill clients.
- Provide excellent client service—maintaining client relationships by serving as a liaison for the client, promptly troubleshooting and resolving client issues.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Pursing degree in accounting
- Previous accounting work experience, a plus
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis
