Title: SLC Special Education Aide

Position Summary

Assist teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities and provide for physical and instructional needs of student with disabilities.

Position Requirement

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; and

Have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education [defined as completion of 48 semester hours ;or

Have obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or

Have met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment - Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics;

Special Knowledge/Skills

Ability to work with children with disabilities

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Regular heavy lifting of students

Term of Employment: 10 months

Reports to: Building Principal

Salary: Commensurate with experience and district salary schedule.
