What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospice Administrator position at Regional Hospice?
We are a well-established hospice company looking to add to our growing team. Regional Hospice has 3 offices serving the southwestern corner of Missouri---Springfield, Lebanon, Joplin.
We are currently looking for an experienced Hospice Administrator to work as part of our hospice interdisciplinary team. This person would provide leadership over Springfield and Lebanon and be required to travel; estimated 20 to 40% travel between Springfield, and Lebanon. The ideal candidate can live in Lebanon or Springfield, or in between. Company car is part of the benefit package for this position. This position requires someone with an RN license valid in Missouri.
The Administrator is entrusted with the responsibility of caring for our patients, families, co-workers, and others. The primary purpose of this position is to manage the overall operations of the organization in compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as, company policies and procedures.
The Administrator will:
· Monitor, coordinate, and supervise all hospice activities including hiring, staffing, and culture in every office.
· Consult with physicians as indicated regarding hospice program.
· Act as official hospice spokesman and representative to continue to grow the business and create new referral sources. Provide education on hospice qualifications and LCDs.
· Cooperate with health-related agencies to increase and improve services to the community.
· Monitor and ensure continuous compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, and hospice policy and procedures.
· Maintain high visibility and availability via telephone to physicians, referral sources, community resources, patients, and staff.
· Oversight of and participation in quality assurance and performance improvement activities as directed by the Director of Operations and Quality Assurance Nurse.
*Be willing and able to stand beside their staff in the field making visits, helping with on call and stressful situations as needed.
The successful candidate will have experience as a health care manager; two years experience within the healthcare setting, preferably in an administrative, marketing, or nursing supervisor capacity; have knowledge of federal and state regulations governing agency operations.
Primary hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with some call/after hours required. Salaried position based on years of experience. Company car and benefits package included.
Basic computer skills and ability to use EMR and phone app for mileage computation required.
