What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Alternative Education Services Principal position at Regional Office of Education #33?
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The principal of RAES is responsible for coordinating the Regional Alternative Education Services program for the Regional Office of Education #33 and carrying out the vision and mission of the Regional Office of Education and the RAES program. The principal additionally carries out the oversight of teachers and instructors, intake of students and transition process, student discipline measures and behavioral intervention supports, and the overall function, programming, and budgeting of the school. The principal communicates with schools, parents/caregivers, and partner agencies to support students with at-risk needs. The principal provides professional development to RAES staff, the ROE, and area schools.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, & CRITICAL SKILLS
- Masters Degree or higher in educational leadership or educational administration (PEL).
- Knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc. and Virtual Meeting Platforms.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and an acceptable/courteous manner.
- Understanding and awareness of multicultural needs
- Ability to maintain a positive and collaborative relationship/attitude across all ROE programs.
