Title: Substitute Teacher
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred
Ability, interest and flexibility in working with young people
Able to report to the school on short notice and teach regularly planned lessons
To communicate and cooperate with students, community and school personnel
Reports to: Building Administration & Central Office Staff
Job Goal:
1. To Continue the educational programing at the highest possible level in the absence of the
regular teacher/support staff
Performance Responsibilities:
Report to the school at least half an hour before school opens or as early as possible after being notified
Report to Building Administrator or School Administrative Assistant(s) to receive assignment, other duties, and substitute forms
Review and follow teacher’s plans and materials
Maintain order in assigned classes and assist in supervising all students
Maintain student respect for school property, fellow students, and staff
Take attendance promptly in each class, and report any student not accounted for to the office
Leave significant information summarizing the day’s activities
Notify the office immediately of any injured or ill student
Follow all policies, rules and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates
Check with the office before leaving; leave completed forms with the office staff
Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time
