Job Description:
The Forklift Operator and Warehouse Assistant is responsible for handling materials, operating warehouse equipment, and supporting logistics and kitting processes. This role requires prior forklift and warehouse experience, with an active forklift certification considered a plus. The position may involve multiple responsibilities, including material handling, inventory management, and system maintenance.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Material Handling & Logistics:
- Receive pads/plugs and verify quantity and quality of materials.
- Notify Team Leader of any product defects or concerns.
- Unpack and sort items into proper storage bins.
- Transport plugs, sound dampener pads, and other materials to the production line.
- Maintain line-side inventory of plugs, grommets, and melt pads.
- Operate a tugger in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload trucks from the south dock and transport materials to designated locations.
- Remove empty containers and transport them to designated storage areas.
- Load and offload sealer material and wax per specified schedule.
- Make daily trips to the Mail Room and deliver packages to appropriate areas.
Inventory & Warehouse Management:
- Ensure compliance with FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory procedures.
- Maintain organized and clean work areas, ensuring proper housekeeping.
- Monitor inventory levels of bulk materials, system materials, and cleaning supplies.
- Record daily material usage and submit weekly inventory reports to the CPP Manager.
- Ensure all products are stored and managed within expiration guidelines.
Equipment & System Maintenance:
- Update and maintain the sealer board.
- Change sealer system filters on a scheduled basis.
- Collect and record system data, including pressures, temperatures, and tank levels.
- Monitor and change out nitrogen tanks as needed.
- Perform system filter changes and flushing of basecoat and clear coat systems as required.
- Assist in system troubleshooting and work with suppliers and customers to resolve issues.
- Ensure inoperable equipment is brought back online and meets operational standards.
- Follow all applicable safety standards and training requirements.
Compliance & Safety:
- Support and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety training requirements.
- Work a minimum of 40 hours per week on-site, with additional hours as required.
- Uphold company values in a positive and professional manner.
- Report any abnormal issues found during initial shift walk-through.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior forklift and warehouse experience required.
- Tugger operation experience preferred.
- At least six months of forklift operation experience preferred.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 per hour
