We are currently recruiting for a Patient Service Representative in West Orange, NJ. This would be on a temporary basis with opportunity to grow within Axia Women's Health.
Our care center is looking for a temporary full time PSR to fill in while our lead PSR is out on maternity leave. Individual must be flexible with hours and be able to start as early as 7am and work until 6 or later on some days.
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) will have exemplary customer service and communication skills as the first and last point of contact for Axia Women’s Health patients visiting the office and for patients calling to schedule or change appointments or making other requests. Hours can range between 7a-6p with day/evening shifts.
Essential Functions:
- Greeting patients and visitors, assisting, and directing them accordingly to the appropriate waiting area.
- Paging or phoning appropriate personnel to meet and escort patients to the exam room.
- Explaining financial requirements to patients, collecting, and recording copayments as required.
- Performing registration functions for new and existing patients and activating patient files.
- Promptly and professionally answering and routing calls to appropriate personnel, paging, offering voicemail, or redirecting calls as needed.
- Retrieving and appropriately routing any messages from the answering service.
- Providing additional support to patients and medical staff and performing other duties as assigned.
- Courteously screening solicitors for relevance to organizational needs.
- Adhering to infection control and safety guidelines as well as maintaining confidentiality regarding all patients and following confidentiality policies per HIPAA compliance.

Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medical Receptionist/PSR experience preferred.
