What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spanish Interpreter position at Regions Hospital?
JOB DESCRIPTION
The interpreter will be responsible for facilitating daily cross-cultural communication between patients, family members and others, along with medical providers and staff. The interpreter will serve as a cultural and language resource person. Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday
20 hours weekly
Required Qualifications:
- 40 hours of interpreter training required within 6 months of hire.
- Annual completion of department-required continuing education
- Active Status on the Minnesota Spoken Language Health Care Interpreter Roster or obtained within 30 days of hire date prior to serving patients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 40 hours of interpreter training completed prior to hire preferred. Some general college preferred
- Two years interpreting experience including one year medical interpreting experience preferred
