What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher - Texas Hill Country School position at Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation?
- Provides special instruction to students in compliance with school-system and program requirements, state and federal regulations
- Implements an instructional, therapeutic and skill development program for differentiated learning levels
- Conducts formal and informal assessments of all students
- Plans and uses appropriate instructional strategies to include the integration of activities, materials and equipment that align with the accommodations as set in the student’s Individual Education Plan
- Plans and supervises assignments for staff members assisting with students
- Establishes and maintains appropriate, open lines of communication with all parties, to include but not limited to students, therapists, school district personnel, parents and co-workers
- Attends all required meetings and trainings offered by program
- Completes required documentation within timelines, including recording of grades and attendance
- Abides by and demonstrates the company’s Mission, Vision, and Values, through both behavior and job performance on a day-to-day basis Performs other duties as assigned
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and holds current state certification as Special Education Teacher in state providing the service
- Minimum of one year experience working with children with disabilities
- Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is preferred
- Understand and have knowledge of the provided curriculum, Unique Learning Able to co-teach and work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
The Texas Hill Country School specializes in working with individuals with Acquired Brain Injuries, Developmental Disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorders, and a host of other developmental, neurological and psychological problems. We enroll both residential and day students from ages 6-22. Individuals past the age of 22 are evaluated for placement on a case by case basis depending on their developmental level.
