In this role, you will be essential in managing patient referrals and ensuring seamless communication between healthcare providers, patients, vocational counselors, and claim managers. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality rehabilitation services.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage patient referrals to ensure timely access to services.
- Obtain authorization for services for referred patients.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding referral processes and patient needs.
- Assist patients with scheduling appointments and navigating the referral process.
- Monitor referral tracking systems to ensure efficient workflow and follow-up on pending referrals.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care coordination.
- Arrange for interpreters for non-English speakers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably in a referral or coordination role.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical record management practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with patients, providers, claim managers and other stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of work.
