Job Summary:

The Resident Monitor (RM) is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and cleanliness of Reynolds & Associates, Inc. facilities. Under the supervision of the Facility Director, the RM ensures compliance with program guidelines, supervises returning citizens, and assists in facility operations, including record-keeping, crisis intervention, and emergency response. This position requires strong observational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond to various situations professionally and effectively.

Parameters of the Position:

  • Ensure safety, security, cleanliness, and proper record-keeping of Reynolds & Associates, Inc. facilities, in compliance with federal and contract requirements.
  • Supervise and monitor returning citizens/clients.
  • Perform essential services related to medication, food, clothing, facility inspections, maintenance, accountability, and record-keeping.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee individual and group activities for returning citizens/clients in accordance with program policies and manuals.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports on incidents, escapes, apprehensions, disciplinary actions, and other required documentation.
  • Conduct safety and sanitation inspections of the facility, reporting concerns to the Facility Director and supervising sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain an inventory of resident property and ensure proper accountability.
  • Observe returning citizens/clients for crisis situations or prohibited actions and take appropriate steps when necessary.
  • Monitor and manage essential facility supplies, providing necessary items to returning citizens.
  • Participate in staff training and development programs.
  • Maintain a master log of residential activities and returning citizens’ movement.
  • Conduct house searches, pat searches, breathalyzer tests, fire/evacuation drills, first aid, and medical inventory inspections.
  • Assist in organizing and supervising resident programs, including classes, religious services, meals, recreation, and meetings.
  • Work assigned shifts, including full-time, part-time, and on-call coverage when needed.
  • Report to assigned shifts on time and remain on duty until properly relieved for the safety and security of residents.
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire, if required.
  • Be physically capable of assisting in emergency life-safety situations, such as performing CPR and leading evacuation procedures.
  • Walk up and down stairs frequently to inspect the facility and monitor resident behavior.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in mental health, corrections, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to write clear and legible handwritten reports.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills for electronic documentation and report generation.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and a reliable vehicle.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must meet all contract requirements with federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Must pass an NCIC criminal background check after receiving a conditional job offer.
  • Employees will be fingerprinted and subject to investigation by the Bureau of Prisons or a designated agency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
